I missed three calls from my mom. Was in a meeting initially and then was driving. When I called her back, it was beyond her sleeping time. Couldn't speak much.
I wish to take deliberate steps to improve upon this. I am convinced since years of the priority of the family with regard to office. And I have been advising many to make a difference in their lives by listening to the few elderly persons in their family, however uncomfortable they feel initially.
Once I read about Osho (I hope it was him) saying - The moment a child is born, the mother is also born. She never existed before. The woman existed, but the mother, never. A mother is something absolutely new.
It's not only children who grow. Parents do too. As much as we watch to see what our children do with their lives, they are watching us to see what we do with ours. I can't tell my children to reach for the sun. All I can do is reach for it, myself. ~Joyce Maynard
