o meri jaan...
(dil Khudgarj Hai, Phisala Hai Yeh Phir Haath Se
Kal Usaka Raha, Abb Hai Tera Iss Raat Se) - 2
O Meri Jaan..........
Tu Aa Gaya Yuun Nazar Mein
Jaise Subah Dopahar Mein
Madhoshi Yuun Hi Nahi Dil Pe Chaayi
Niyat Ne Li Angadaayi
Chhuaa Tune Kuchh Iss Tarah
Badli Fiza Badla Sama
O Meri Jaan..........
Naata Samajhe ??? Yeh Dil Mera
Jaanu Na Jaanu Na Isako Kya Huva
Teri Baahon Ki Phir Se Dhunde Yeh Panaah
Tu Hai Kahaan, Tu Hai Kahaan
O Meri Jaan
Tumse hi...
na hai yeh pana, na khona hi hai
tera na hona jane, kyun hona hi hai
tum se hi din hota hai, surmaiye shaam aati, tumse hi, tumse hi
har ghadi saans aati hai, zindagi kehlati hai, tumse hi, tumse hi
na hai yeh pana, na khona hi hai
tera na hona jane, kyun hona hi hai
aankhon mein ankhein teri, bahoon mein baahein teri
mera na mujhmein kuch raha, hua kya
baaton mein baatein teri, raatein saugatein teri
kyun tera sab yeh ho gaya, hua kya
main kahin bhi jata hoon, tumse hi mil jata hoon, tumse hi, tumse hi
shoor mein khamoshi hai, thodi si behoshi hai, tum se hi, tum se hi
aadha sa wada kabhi, aadhe se jayada kabhi
jee chaahe kar lu is tarah wafa ka
chhode na chhoote kabhi, tode na tute kabhi
jo dhaga tumse jud gaya wafa ka
main tera sarmaya hoon, jo main ban paya hoon, tumse hi, tumse hi
raaste mil jaate hai, manzile mil jaati hai, tumse hi, tumse hi
na hai yeh paana, na khona hi hai
tera na hona jaane kyun hona hi hai
Dil, dosti etc

Love?
A historic question is haunting me these days. This question is a part of growing up. Some people consider this optional, but somehow, I am unable to convince myself that this is not a fundamental question in life.

Is an arranged marriage better than love marriage?
Too big a question to answer and there are too many parameters that govern a suitable answer to this. We can give the diplomatic answer - It Depends!
Well, I think for myself, love is the only way out. Dont ask me why. Will keep posting things on this topic.
Human nature is awesomely complicated.

Before I could finish instructing them what to do, there was a small little girl who had started coloring. She wanted to be the first person to complete, and there were bells to color too. One girl found that there are a lesser number of color-boxes and was ready to share with some of them, while another kid was insistent that she needs a color-box only for herself.
It was not the first time that I was going there. And I have been to worse places than these, in the sense, that all kids here are normal. In Mumbai, I dealt with mentally challenged kids, and on few occasions, with AIDS/Cancer infected kids. There is a superb calmness under the huge energy levels, which a kid alone can see. They are not totally unaware of their situation. But bursting a baloon with a fellow kid takes away any tension that life can think of giving them. The fact that they never did anything that should put them in that condition is something that intrigues new comers. But anyways, who said Life is fair!?
The bells were ready in no time, and it was a big discussion about how to make Santa's beard as white, as the paper itself was white. Mala colored it yellow, whereas Stephen thought no color is required on the beard.

Krishna insisted that I color for him and not others. I re-lived my childhood when my teacher patiently asked me to color between the lines, and not let the color overflow.
After the painting was done, we let it dry for sometime.
We cut the masks, and tied them with ribbons.

These kids remember every single day that we spend with them, every single dialogue we had in the past. Stephen runs to us and says we promised we'll get Popeye and not Santa!
And to imagine that we are so much crunched for time, it was so difficult for me to find ten minutes to write this article in a hurried manner.
May their smiles be forever there!

In and Out!
Nahin rakhta dil mein kuch rakhta hoon zubaan par
Samjhe na apne bhi kabhi
Keh nahin sakhta main kya sehta hoon chupakar
Ek aisi aadat hai meri
Sabhi to hai jinse milta hoon sahi jo hai inse kehta hoon
Jo samajhta hoon
Maine dekha nahin rang dil aaya hai sirf adaa par
Ek aisi chaahat hai meri
Bahaaron ke ghere se laaya main dil sajaakar
Ek aisi sohbat hai meri
Saaye mein chaaye rehta hoon
Aankhen bichaye rehta hoon jinse milta hoon
Kitnon ko dekha hai humne yahan kuch seekha hai humne inse naya
Pehle phursat thi ab hasrat hai samaakar ek aisi uljhan hai meri
Khud chaslke rukta hoon jahan jis jagah par
Ek aisi sarhad hai meri
Kehne se bhi main darta hoon apnon ki dhun mein rahta hoon.
Kar kya sakhta hoon
De sakhta hoon main thoda pyaar yahan par
Jitni haisiyat hai meri
Reh jaaoon sab ke dil me dil ko basaakar
Ek aisi neeyat hai meri ho jaaye to bhi raazi hoon
Kho jaaye to main baaki hoon yun samajhta hoon
Raste na badle na badla jahan phir kyon badalte kadam hai yahan

She's gone!
Woh Chali Woh Chali Dekho Pyaar Ki Gali Use Roke Na Koi , Woh Chali Woh Chali
Na Na Na Meri Jaan,Dekho Jaana Na Waha Koi Pyaar Ka Lutera,Lute Na Meri Jaan.
Woh Chali Woh Chali,She's found the love that's real, Now her wounded heart is healed,Finally finally
Woh Chali Woh Chali, leavin all her tears behind Only loves on her mind,Finally Finally
Thou she tries but she cant hide All her joy wrapped up inside She cant wait to reveal,And tell you how she feels
Well this time it feels so right, There'll be no more lonesome nights Good times are here to stay Love will shine on every day.
Woh Chali Woh Chali,She's found the love that's real Now her wounded heart is healed,Finally Finally
Woh Chali Woh Chali, leavin all her tears behind Only loves on her mind,Finally Finally
In my heart there is some pain,Dont ask me why I cant explain May be I did love her too,now there's nothin I can do
On the other side of town, her love is waitin on As she's waivin me goodbye,I think my heart is gonna cry.
Woh Chali Woh Chali,She's found the love that's real Now her wounded heart is healed, finally finally
Woh Chali Woh Chali, leavin all her tears behind Only loves on her mind,Finally finally
Woh Chali Woh Chali Dekho Pyaar Ki Gali Use Roke Na Koi , Woh Chali Woh Chali
Na Na Na Meri Jaan,Dekho Jaana Na Waha Koi Pyaar Ka Lutera,Lute Naaaaaaaaa
Woh Chali Woh Chali,She's found the love that's real Now her wounded heart is healed,Finally Finally
Woh Chali Woh Chali, leavin all her tears behind Only loves on her mind,Finally Finally
Woh Chali Woh Chali,She's found the love that's real Now her wounded heart is healed,Finally Finally

Which Bra?

I dont know the logic behind the sunsigns and the moon signs but I do find them a lot humourous in my daily life. I make it a point to read them at the end of the day so that I can laugh better! Many people confuse me with a Leo fellow, but October is my month and I am a Libra! Whoa! I am sure the reason they put both the sunsigns stuff and the cartoons stuff side by side in the newspapers is that they both belong to the humor category. Well, anyways.

Going home..
Going home after almost a year and a half. This wednesday. Trying to finish office work. Let me see. No time to blog!

You sang to me..
I just wanted you to comfort me
When I called you late last night you see
I was fallin' into love
Yes, I was crashin' into love
Oh of all the words you sang to me
About life, the truth and being free, yeah
You sang to me, oh how you sang to me
Girl, I live off how you make me feel
So I question all this being real
'Cause I'm not afraid to love
For the first time I'm not afraid of love
Oh, this day seems made for you and me
And you showed me what life needs to be
Yeah, you sang to me, oh you sang to me
All the while you were in front of me I never realized
I just can't believe I didn't see it in your eyes
I didn't see it, I can't believe it
Oh but I feel it
When you sing to me
How I long to hear you sing beneath the clear blue skies
And I promise you this time I'll see it in your eyes
I didn't see it, I can't believe it
Oh but I feel it
When you sing to me
Just to think you live inside of me
I had no idea how this could be
Now I'm crazy for your love
Can't believe I'm crazy for your love
The words you said you sang to me
And you showed me where I wanna be
you sang to me, oh you sang to me
All the while you were in front of me I never realized
I just can't believe I didn't see it in your eyes
I didn't see it, I can't believe it
Oh but I feel it
When you sing to me
How I long to hear you sing beneath the clear blue skies
And I promise you this time I'll see it in your eyes
I didn't see it, I can't believe it
Oh but I feel it
When you sing to me
All the while you were in front of me I never realized
I just can't believe I didn't see it in your eyes
I didn't see it, I can't believe it
Oh but I feel it
When you sing to me
How I long to hear you sing beneath the clear blue skies
And I promise you this time I'll see it in your eyes
I didn't see it, I can't believe it
Oh but I feel it
When you sing to me
All the while you were in front of me I never realized
I just can't believe I didn't see it in your eyes
I didn't see it, I can't believe it
Oh but I feel it
When you sing to me
How I long to hear you sing beneath the clear blue skies
And I promise you this time I'll see it in your eyes

Life is Speaking to You
It was the second Monday in January 1997 when I walked into my boss' office to hand her my letter of resignation. I'd spent the holidays contemplating my plan for starting my own company and I knew that this one step would set in motion my leap of faith. Even though I loved the company I was working for, and my boss in particular, something in my spirit told me I was supposed to be working for myself. Still, I was afraid. When I climbed into bed that evening, the reality of my actions set in and I realized that the entrepreneurial dreams I'd envisioned since childhood were about to become reality. My excitement was tempered by fear. Yet, somehow I knew it would all work out. I have been in business for myself ever since.
I felt a sense of peace about that decision more than a decade ago because I believed my life was speaking to me about the direction I should take. My job was to "listen to my life." I knew that I would not be satisfied until I had a business of my own. Barely in my mid-twenties, I didn't have much experience, but I did have passion, drive and a willingness to work hard. Even more importantly, after much prayer, I simply had a feeling that my decision was the right one.
Our lives speak to us in a variety of ways and it is important to listen when your life is sending you a message. Whether in your work, relationships, health, finances or spiritual life, I have found that there are at least five ways that your life speaks to you:
1. Your life speaks to you through your intuition.
Your intuition – often referred to as a hunch, gut instinct, or sixth sense – is divine intelligence. It is a gift from God. Use it! Make a decision to begin trusting your intuition. The sooner you do, the sooner you will begin noticing a greater sense of peace about your decisions. The answers you need are available to you, but you must trust that they are there. Access your intuition through prayer and meditation. Begin noticing those little nudges in your spirit – and follow them.
2. Your life speaks to you through people.
Isn't it amazing how others' paths cross yours at just the right time to offer you a message you need to hear? Sometimes the message is a positive and uplifting one. At other times, it is a message that irritates or frustrates you – thus, moving you to make a needed change. People cross your path for a purpose and sometimes for only a brief period. Make sure you notice when a divine message or lesson is being offered to you through the people in your life.
3. Your life speaks to you through frustration.
Negative emotions and feelings are teachers. The problem is that most people don't realize it. As a result, their frustration only serves to make them more frustrated. When you feel frustrated, ask yourself, "What change would I need to make in order to eliminate this frustration?" Problems such as frustration offer you an opportunity to make changes that will ultimately enrich your life.
4. Your life speaks to you through joy.
One of the most rewarding goals you can set for yourself is to experience joy on a daily basis. It was the pursuit of joy that led me onto the path of entrepreneurship. Two of the values that bring me the most joy are freedom and creativity. I wanted the freedom to create my own schedule and the joy of creating something of my own that would make a difference in the lives of others. Figure out what brings you joy and pursue it wholeheartedly.
5. Your life speaks to you through failures.
Failures, though frustrating and disappointing, offer a terrific opportunity for future success. Refuse to allow failure to discourage you to the point of giving up. Instead, ask yourself, "What's the lesson in this failure?" Perhaps failure is meant to push you in a new direction, spark an idea, or keep you in a holding pattern until something better comes along. Failure is never about the failure. It is about the lesson learned and the wisdom gained in the process.
My challenge to you this week:
Listen to your life! Refuse to allow fear to stifle the desires of your heart.
Journaling assignment:
Consider the five key areas of your life: Your relationships, work, finances, health and spiritual life. How is your life speaking to you right now? What is it saying? What step do you need to take based on what you hear?
Let him hold..
Adapted from an email I got this morning:
Little girl and her father were crossing a bridge.
The father was kind of scared so he asked his little daughter,
"Sweetheart, please hold my hand so that you don't fall into the river."
The little girl said, "No, Dad. You hold my hand."
"What's the difference?" Asked the puzzled father.
"There's a big difference," replied the little girl.
"If I hold your hand and something happens to me,
chances are that I may let your hand go.
But if you hold my hand, I know for sure that no matter what happens,
you will never let my hand go."
In any relationship, the essence of trust is not in its bind, but in its bond.
So hold the hand of the person who loves you rather than expecting them to hold yours...

Its okay...
I saw her from the bus window. I had just walked in front of her, without any expression at seeing her. The bus was to leave in five minutes. I guess, she was waiting for another bus no. 35. (She was standing where 35 comes.) She looked as if she is from Gujarat but I cannot be sure. You won't find such a person in Tamil Nadu for sure. Had the looks of a journalist but seemed to be in her teens. Short hair. Salwar kameez. No dupatta. A handbag (journalist style). And a amazingly composed look in the bright face. She saw me, I knew. When you want someone to look at you, you should look some other way. I knew when she looked. I was looking at the little girl selling jasmine flowers on the pavement. After some seconds I looked back at her. I was sure she would be looking at the jasmine flowers. And she was!
The bus started and I moved. For a moment we both looked at each other. We smiled. The bus moved on.
I do not know if I would see her again. Its okay. :))
The Dancing Lady...
The loud chorus of children was sharp, as they got down from their bus. And the colors were beautiful. I like blue.
It was a cool morning and I just came out of the college building where I had been to appear for a national examination. The exam went well, and after that, I was delighted to see so many children.
The group that got down from the bus comprised mostly of girls. They must in the age group of 12-16 years, accompanied by a couple of teachers. They had come here to participate in a group dance performance.
They went in a queue, led by a well-dressed man. I asked the security guard nearby whether I could attend the children's show. He said it is a public show and that too a free one. People were welcome to donate if the willed too.
I went ahead and lodged myself in a right corner seat in the front row. The advantage in a corner seat in the front row is that you can see who is coming next on stage before others can know.
I was struck by one particular girl. Of course, she was the reason I thought of staying back and watching the show. There are three things I would like to tell you about this girl.
Firstly, she had a amazing personality. The way she carried herself, the way she talked to other friends, the way she listened and followed the teacher who was accompanying them was really something. She had a wonderful calm around her, and seemed to exhude a great sense of confidence.
Secondly, the dance that she did after some time on stage was enthralling. It was a "Geeti-Natya", a song-drama, that was played in the form of a dance. The theme was about helping each other in order to have better results for the nation, and the world.
Forget about the theme, my eyes were hooked on the girl I spoke of. She must be sixteen. She was wearing a blue dress, with snow-white wings on her arms as she was enacting an angel. She so much suited her character! She had a white veil on her hair. It was amazing. Simply amazing. She danced with amazing gait and seemed to carry the whole show herself.
It was a half-an hour performance, but it did not seem so. The received a standing ovation after the performance.
The third thing that I wanted to mention about this girl was that, like all her group members in the dance, she was blind.
I cannot imagine the sharpness of the brain behind the little child's imagination, and the amount of hard-work that she must have done to achieve the perfection that she showed on stage. Her mobility was awesome.
Try doing a simple experiment. In your own house, just close your eyes and try dancing. You can try this when no one is at home so that people do not laugh at you, but it would be a good idea to have some friend nearby so that you don't hurt yourself by falling down.
Life is a surprising experience. A amazing tale of conviction and faith winning the last bites of misfortune and sorrow. Life is beautiful.
I was too speechless, over-awed, and choked by emotions to do anything but just keep looking. After the show, I talked to the teacher that acompanied them. I informed about my efforts at making a shoe-fitted navigation device for visually-impaired persons. And I informed about one of the members of National Blind Association with whom I have been in touch in order to make my product a better one. I asked him if I could talk to the girl that I mentioned.
Sadhana.
I do not have a perfect English equivalent of the word that represented her and her name so aptly. Literally, Sadhana means penance. But it is much more. (The picture alongside is not hers but one from the Internet.) I talked to her. I told him about a small chip that can be fitted in her shoes and that will guide her if their is any obstacle in her path. It may also learn specific dance steps and guide her to dance better.
"Bhaiya! Even without your chip, I can dance like anything!" was her innocent reply. "But please tell me for sure when the thing is ready. Do you have something I can put in my eyes so that I can see your face?"
She had her arms around me. And one of the bestest smiles I have ever seen in life.
Smile Meditation!
Look at your eyes. Just smile. Do not break into laughter. Just smile. If you feel like laughing, just take a deep breath. And smile. Look at your eys, your face, your lips. Be yourself. Do not think anything. You are with yourself. If you are in a front of a full body mirror, you observe other parts of yourself. If you are comfortable being nude or semi-nude, be that. Just relax without thinking anything. Just smile.
You will be bombarded with thoughts. Just defer them for sometime. Just relax nad smile.
You are the most beautiful the way you are. And you are always striving to better yourself than ever. You are better than what you were yesterday.
See the way your lips curve when you smile. If some of your teeth are visible, just loook at them. Smile. Simply smile.
Do this everyday for at least one minute at the beginning, and increase the duration to about five minutes daily. That's enough to make each of your day great. You will have the best plans, best thoughts, best work, best people, best opportunities the whole day. You need not do it in the morning only. Do it whenever you feel like and are comfortable for five minutes, being alone. Do not do anything else while doing this. Do not brush teeth, or comb hair, or masturbate while doing this. Just relax and smile for five minutes a session.
This technique is not new. But this has worked for many. I can vouch for each one of them, and most importantly for myself.
Every moment you will be better than what you were earlier.
Smile! :)
Near, far, wherever you are,,,
You're here, there's nothing I fear,
And I know that my heart will go on
We'll stay forever this way
You are safe in my heart
And my heart will go on and on
These lines were scribbled by a 13 year old cancer patient at Tata Memorial Hospital, which I visited today. Will keep the piece of "pure love" for eternity in my memory.
The joy of giving love is equalled by nothing other than the joy of being loved!
A relation..
While journeying east and west -
The only folks we really wound
Are those we love the best.
We flatter those we scarcely know,
We please the fleeting guest,
And deal full many a thoughtless blow
To those who love us best.

IT WILL COME...
Just search for an answer; the solution will come.
When a tragedy occurs leaving you feeling numb,
Just wait for your health; the strength will come.
When everyone relies on you and there is no way you can see,
Trust your mind to think with time; patience is the key.
When you have made it where others always flee,
Just wait to gather courage; soon you'll be where you want to be.
When it is nearing the end and you're in need,
Muster up your courage; endurance will lead. IT WILL COME.
Life...
Smiling is the only way of life!

The hand he held...
She had an amazing calm when she handed over the cup of tea to her husband. I was standing at a distance looking at this couple in the restaurant. Glowing skin, and swollen eyes. It showed that they had traveled the night. The husband’s face was stronger than anything visible in the vicinity. But there was a strange oscillation of expressions on the lady’s face. It seemed she was furious about something but she did not express it. Rather an expression of calmness kept trying to come back on her visage.
The name of the restaurant was Nidhi Sagar. A few minutes walk from the Domlur flyover. Few kilometers from the Airport. A small place totally unsuited to the kind of elderly guests it hosted that morning.
There is something in a human face that tells a story more elaborate than any storyteller but without using the conventional words or expressions.
A whole movie was running in the old man’s mind as he looked blankly at the glass vase with flowers in it, at one corner of the hall. Two small bags with Air Deccan tags attached to them were there, one in the lady’s lap and the other below the table. The tea got generously cold as they watched the same vase. It seemed the hot vapors over the cups of tea settled down back into the tea after not being appreciated by any of the thoughtful elders.
She took a deep breath, which could be heard till where I was sitting, observing them from above the borders of a newspaper.
A sudden gush of tears came up in the lady’s eyes and this was when I stood up and walked towards them. It seemed she could not hold it any more. But the tears went away as fast as they had come. And the old man’s arm gently stretched to her face, wiping softly the pearls that rolled down. He kept holding her hand. And things stopped. I stopped on my way to them.
Time seemed to have paused to give respect to the gentleman and the lady.
Main hoon na. The man said.
It is the most comforting thing for someone at this state to listen and it takes effort, if not anything else, to put strength while uttering them.
They walked to the gate, hand in hand. Again, an awesome poise. An autorickshaw stopped and went away with them.
I turned back to pay my bill but I noticed that one of the bags that was below the table was still there. I picked it up slowly to see at the Airlines tag – Air Deccan, Hyderabad to Bangalore, DN 648. It showed the name of the person and his address. Inside the bag, there was nothing except a over-folded newspaper. I took it out.

The child's castles...
All afternoon he will work. Spooning out the moat. Packing the walls. Bottle tops will be sentries. Popsicle stix will be bridges. A sandcastle will be built.
Big city. Busy streets. Rumbling traffic.
A man is in his office. At his desk he shuffles papers into stacks and delegates assignments. He cradles the phone on his shoulder and punches the keyboard with his fingers. Numbers are juggled and contracts are signed and much to the delight of the man, a profit is made.
All his life he will work. Formulating the plans. Forecasting the future. Annuities will be sentries. Capital gains will be bridges. An empire will be built.
Two builders of two castles. They have much in common. They shape granules into grandeurs. They see nothing and make something. They are diligent and determined. And for both the tide will rise and the end will come.
Yet that is where the similarities cease. For the boy sees the end while the man ignores it. Watch the boy as the dusk approaches.
As the waves near, the wise child jumps to his feet and begins to clap. There is no sorrow. No fear. No regret. He knew this would happen. He is not surprised. And when the great breaker crashes into his castle and his masterpiece is sucked into the sea, he smiles. He smiles, picks up his tools, takes his father's hand, and goes home.
The grownup, however, is not so wise. As the wave of years collapses on his castle he is terrified. He hovers over the sandy monument to protect it. He blocks the waves from the walls he has made. Salt-water soaked and shivering he snarls at the incoming tide.
"It's my castle," he defies.
The ocean need not respond. Both know to whom the sand belongs...
And I don't know much about sandcastles. But children do. Watch them and learn. Go ahead and build, but build with a child's heart. When the sun sets and the tides take - applaud. Salute the process of life and go home.

Nothin Inside..
Rakhta hoon zubaan par,
samjhe na apne bhi kabhi.
Kah nahi sakta main kya,
sahtaa hoon chupa kar,
Ek aesi aadat hai meri.
Sabhi to hain jinse milta hoon,
Sahi jo hai inse kahta hoon,
Jo samajhta hoon.
maine dekha nahi rang dil aaya hai sirf adaa par,
Ek aesi chahat hai meri.
Baharon ke ghere se laaya main dil sajaa kar.
Ek aesi sohbat hai meri.
Saye mein chaye rehta hu
Aankein bichaye rehta hu
Jinse milta hu
kitno ko dekha hain hamne yaha
kutch sikha hain hamne unse naya
Pehle phursat thi ab hasratein samakar
Ek aaisi uljhan hain meri
Khud chalkar rukta hu jaha jis jagah par
Ek aaisi sarhad hain meri
Kahne se bhi main darta hoon
Apno ki dhun mein rahta hoon
Kar kya sakta Hoon
De sakta hoon main thoda pyar yahan par,
Jitni haisiyat hai meri.
Reh jaaun sabke dil mein dil ko basakar
Ek aaisi niyat hain meri
Ho jaye to bhi razi hoon.
Kho jaau to main baaki hoon.
Yun samajhta hoon.
Raste na badle na badla jahan,
Phir kyon badalte kadam hain yahan

Those thoughts..
Aake dil ko mere yu tadpati hain
O Sanam Mohabbat ki kasam
Yadoon mein teri main jo door hogaya
O Sanam teri yadoon ki kasam
Jaana hai ab kya hai dil ka lagana
Nazroon se na yu humko girana
Mar bhi gaye toh bhul na jaana
Par door ho kaheen
Dil ke kareeb ho
Yeh mujhko hai yakeen
O Sanam tere pyar ki kasam

Imagine..
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today...
Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace...
You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one
Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world...
You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one
Juda ho ke...
palkon mein banke aansu tu chali aati hai

Doggy said....
He came at the right time, accompanied by Rajesh. He wished me "hi"! I responded slowly, careful not to let my knee injury get attention. I waited for them to order food. Somehow they ordered just two glasses of Orange juice. Well, I never like Orange juice. Its okay. I know dj. He will order some more stuff soon. They talked among themselves. I looked on. He smiled. I reciprocated.
The best kind of friend is the one you could sit on a porch with, never saying a word, and walk away feeling like that was the best conversation you've had.
After about fifteen minutes, they got up to pay. Hey, what's this? I protested, but its okay, I would not lose my dignity by "asking" for something.
When he turned back to go back to his hostel, dj saw me. Sat down beside me, took out his mobile to show some funny sms I guess. But, he had something else in his mind. He scrolled down to the "Tones" menu of his mobile phone and started playing some ringtone! Ohhhhhhhh!!!! My ears!!!!!! My my Dog!!!!!!!!! What the hell was this going on!?!?!?!?!? And he moved the stupid device more closer to my long ears.... I moved away. And started to run. How can he like such a stupid "noise"?
Now, I could not hide my limp. And the moment he saw my limp, he stopped the noise and looked at me. At that very moment, I saw my third wife having a chat with her fourth lover! And hell broke lose! Literally. I barked, barked and barked. I ran faster than I would have done in Dolympics! He had one of his frinds too with him. But I had dj and his noisy phone with me. There was a fierce battle in which I would have died, but for dj's noisy phone whose ringtone was so so so bad that all those who had come to lay their lives fighting ran away from it. And even I ran away from the device when dj started running after us with the noise still on!!! It was horrible noise! Ohh my Dog!!!! These humans.... Dog save them....

Sanjana..
I consider kids as a different species of their own. Their behavior differs in a variety of ways and is quite humorosly unpredictable.
"What are you talking on phone?" The conversation had just begun. I knew she'd be not shy more than five minutes with me. But I hadn't expected her to be this frank and naughty as she proved to be! We were three friends and one by one she asked all our names. None of us understood the language that she spoke. But you dont need much of a language when you are with kids!
We were in the drawing room, watching cricket on the telly. She came a stationed herself firmly amongst us on the sofa. When it was about two minutes gone and she found that no one was paying attention to her, with a loud scream she jumped towards the tv, and manually changed the channel to Cartoon Network. And before any of us could react in any possible manner, she sprang into my lap, took the remote and kept it away at a distance. And then, as if a magician who had just finished a strange trick and is waiting for the audience to appreciate the its depth and greatness, she stood in the center of the room, looked at all of us and gave a loud laugh with hands covering her semi-toothed mouth.
We were out of the magic by now and the match was at an exciting point. I caught her in my arms and asked my friend to switch on the telly. She was waiting for someone to take her on to the lap and smiled wide. But as soon as the telly started, she realised that the attention span gained by her last trick was very ephimeral. How could she let this be? She freed herself from my arms and rushed back to the telly, almost breaking my glasses. How could they see something as mundane as cricket when a great performer like her was nearby? This act needs corrective punishment. Namely, switching off the TV.
Well, by now we'd realised the importance of this great personage between us, but the match was being telecast live and we wanted to stick to it. I caught hold of her again and asked her to sit quietly near me. The telly went on again. Understanding her need for attention, I kept talking to her, showing the different players on the screen. But it seemed her ony aim of existence was to grab the remote from my friend. She tickled me in my belly and ran off!
I am too sensitive to tickling. My friend managed to keep the remote away from her but by now she had identified her next trick! Tickling me. A sudden change in strategy was not noticed by me till she attacked me with full force and with a wonderfull loud cry of victory, landed on my lap. I was almost on the ground and before I could restrain her, she ran to another of my friend sitting adjacent and did the same trick to him. It did not take her long to realise that I was a better victim to her pranks than her. Add to this the fact that whatever she was continously speaking a high speed was quite worse than greek to me. And the same case with what I said to her, with the only difference being that I wanted to know what she was speaking whereas I was really not sure or the reverse.
When I held her left hand, she used her right one to tickle me. And when both her tiny hands were held, she made good use of her legs.
There was enough commotion now to make everybody abort the match and move for dinner.
I have a small study done on the way kids try to gain attention and to what extent they can play innocent pranks! [One of my friend's son locked his mom in the toilet and was watching innocently as neighbours were trying to free her. He was 10 months old. I'll write about it soon.:) ]

Part time Joker
Why do I joke at the drop of a hat? Do I really? Some people call me chatterbox... Some haven't seen me talking at all..
Being a full time joker to yourself and a part-time joker to the rest of the world... A good career option!
The Cycle Stand
My bus was delayed by four hours. It was the biggest bus depot in the state. I sat on one of the benches with my knapsack. Watching people.
The sky was cloudy-blue, and you could easily lose your thoughts in the hustle that pervaded the bus depot. Buses going to many different cities, luggage being loaded and unloaded, people sitting in groups immersed in watching the wall-hung TVs where an exciting India – Pakistan match was coming live – men, women, kids, college girls and guys, food stalls, and one stray dog.
There was a huge roar as one of the promising batsmen got out and walked back to the pavilion.
The boy looked quite hungry but was really amazed at the crowd peering at the replay of someone throwing something at someone else and everybody shouting. He must be 15. His walk and his style of observing people hinted me that he is clinically, a mentally challenged person. He posted himself a few feet away and continued looking at the screens like others. His hands moved in the style the bowler’s bowled and he clapped on seeing he can almost do it well. But he couldn’t find people shouting any more for some more time.
Two buses for Chennai, one air-conditioned, and the other a normal one, left.
He moved closer to the group. Standing on his toes, he tried looking over the shoulder of the spectators. I guess he lost his balance and leaned on one of the fellows.
A sudden turn. The fellow caught this guy and started shouting “Pick-pocket! Catch him!!”
No one noticed Sachin getting out as the crowd pounced upon this fellow. He screamed, and I realized that he was unable to speak. He uttered some incoherent shouts. I got up to help him out but he darted of away from the crowd.
A group of college guys took the opportunity of showing off some movie skills to the female crowd and darted behind him.
He ran towards the bicycle parking. And was walled there. The guys shouted abuses as they punched him. One of the cycles fell and a row of bicycles fell on to one side.
I contacted the constable on duty and he ran with his huge belly towards the crowd. One whistle from the police and all the heroes retreated back to realize that Sachin was no more on the pitch.
I stood in front of the sobbing boy. I tried to hold him but he did not let me do so. His eyes were filled with fear.
I stood a little distance away and asked the constable about the boy. I was told that he was homeless because he was mad. I doubt whether it couldn’t be the other way round.
A couple of minutes later I turned around to see the boy patiently picking up the bicycles and rearranging them in a neat queue.
Reality leaves a lot to imagination.
63 Seconds
I usually stay in the second row at any traffic signal. Never thought why, but I guess it gives me a better view of people waiting before the zebra lines, people scurrying off on it, the policeman viewing the traffic in his own way, and the other vehicles moving on the green signal for them. There are different kinds of traffic signals in India. Some of them are manned, some of them unmanned. Some with timers counting down. Others without them. But these places are an amazing center of activity for people selling trifle items such as sunglasses, window shades, ear buds, hankies and so on. You can find a number of beggars as well, in addition to people who clean your vehicle windows or the front glass, without invitation, and then start asking for change money. There is a recent Bollywood movie named Traffic Signal, which showcases the lives of many of these people, some of whom earn huge sums of money from begging.
It read 63 seconds when I stopped my bike at the traffic signal. Count-down on. There was an old Maruti 800 in front of me. I found her trying to sell ear buds to the passenger inside. She must be twelve odd years. And she pleaded that she needs some money. The window shades were rolled down and someone in dark glasses smiled at her. She got a KitKat bar. The girl shrieked with joy on getting the chocolate. It is rare for her to get one. And waving her hand high in the air, she called someone else, I presume, her younger sister.
These people are not professional beggars. Elderly touts force them, many time their own parents, to beg. You’ll often find a lady with a sleeping infant in her arms, trying to show that she desperately needs money to feed her child. In many cases, these infants are drugged to sleep through the chaos of the traffic signal and are available for ‘rent’ for something like Rupees Fifty a shift. A shift typically is about six hours for them. If you observe, the kid never grows in age, even after you come to the same signal after a year or more.
The girls jumped around with joy but the elder one made it clear that she is not going to share her KitKat with anyone. The younger, may be around five years of age, looked with imploring eyes. She walked towards the Maruti, hesitatingly. She didn’t have any ear-buds with her. She didn’t want to beg, it seemed. After a few wavering steps, she thought she can do without a chocolate bar and may be her chance would be some other time. The footsteps turned back. I heard a loud shout immediately, admonishing her for not doing her job of begging. I turned around. A shabbily dressed lady with an infant in her arms. She asked her to go and ask for her chocolate. The child followed her orders and walked like a cute robot. The window shade rolled down again and the person behind the dark glasses had no more chocolates to give her.
A stream of tears instantly rolled from her eyes but she kept quiet. A sudden jolt and she crossed the road among the stationary vehicles.
The timer counted zero, signal became orange, and then green. The traffic moved on.

Ghungroo ki tarah
Just heard this song after a long time today in the bus... I haven't seen the movie but I liked the music.. The Lyrics may or may not really reflect things in life.. but have a lot of truth in it... :-)
Ghungroo ki tarah
Bajta hi raha hoon mein
Ghungroo ki tarah
Bajta hi raha hoon mein
Kabhi iis pagh me
Kabhi oos pagh me
Bandhta hi raha hoon mein
Ghungroo ki tarah
Bajta hi raha hoon mein
Kabhi toot gaya
Kabhi toda gaya
Sau baar mujhe
Phir joda gaya
Kabhi toot gaya
Kabhi toda gaya
Sau baar mujhe
Phir joda gaya
Yuhi loot loot ke aur meet meet ke
Banta hi raha hoon mein
Ghungroo ki tarah
Bajta hi raha hoon mein
Mein karta raha
Auron ki kahi
Meri baat mere
Mann hi me rahi
Mein karta raha
Auron ki kahi
Meri baat mere
Mann hi me rahi
Kabhi mandir me
Kabhi mehfil me
Sajta hi raha hoon mein
Ghungroo ki tarah
Bajta hi raha hoon mein
Apnon me rahe
Ya gairon me
Ghungroo ki jagah
To hai pairon me
Apnon me rahe
Ya gairon me
Ghungroo ki jagah
To hai pairon me
Phir kaisa gila
Jag se jo mila
Sahta hi raha hoon mein
Ghungroo ki tarah
Bajta hi raha hoon mein
Ghungroo ki tarah
Bajta hi raha hoon mein
Bajta hi raha hoon mein

who is a master... people call me a reiki master.. it suddenly struck me today morning that i take it a little less seriously - my responsibility of being a master! but should i be too conscious that i am a master? :) dunno... but it gives you more quality in your work when you are a bit more consciuos that you are a master...

Jiva Nilayam...
Just after the marathalli bridge, before kundanhalli gate, there is a place called jiva nilayam (i forgot whether it is jiva or jivan or something..)..
it is a place for terminally ill patients..
i went in today at about 0715.... was not permitted inside without prior appointment but in the garden, i talked to some very old persons.. a couple was sitting.. both in their 80s.. smiling.. they were the only two who came out for morning walk.. both dressed in white..
i didnt ask them what they were suffering from .. just talked some silly things.. they asked me which college i am studying.. and asked me to study well..
the lady seemed to be stronger than the man but still both were weak..
came away after giving the lady and the man two warm a slow hugs.. didnt know what else to do..
bas, just like that..

How much is too "much"?
Many a times it does happen that I am not aware of the way life is heading. I can join the dots backwards but never the other way round. The way things have been going on in the last week, it really surprises me that I am still able to find some peace of mind to type this blog. I have applied the best of my time-management policies and am assured of their effectiveness. Just that they don't work if the amount of work increases "too" much (don't ask me how much - and I am not one who "thinks" it is too much!). May be typing this blog would give me peace of mind to again get back to work in a short while!

Put the glass down..
think this glass weighs?'
'Then what caused the arm ache & the muscle stress?'
The students were puzzled.
Hold it for a few minutes in your head & they seem OK. Think of them for a long time & they begin to ache. Hold it even longer & they begin to paralyze you. You will not be able to do anything.'
